Gravity

Recently, David and I went to the theatre and saw Gravity.
We saw it on cheap Tuesday, and I’m glad we got the discount. The
movie wasn’t all bad. It was definitely suspenseful, and well
paced. It had me on the edge of my seat and I was actually caring
about the characters… Which considering they were Sandra Bullock
and George Clooney, two actors I usually couldn’t care less about,
this is a pretty big deal! The problem with the movie was the plot
holes large enough to fit a Soyuz Capsule or a Space Shuttle or the
ISS or heck even the Moon through. I hate spoilers, so I’m going to
try and call to light some of these holes without spoiling it. NASA
would know if there were any threats to a NASA mission and call
them back before it became a danger. The Earth is a big place and
the things that orbit it are not very close together. It’s really
convenient that things line up the way they do. Would I recommend
this movie? Well, if you’re looking for a mindless action flick,
then yes. Yes, I would. If you’re looking for a movie that really
gets you thinking about the risks and fragility of space travel,
then go find a copy of Apollo 13. If you like my movie reviews,
stay tuned! I’ll be giving my reviews of This Is The End as well as
Ender’s Game. I also plan on reviewing some tv shows I’ve been
watching this season.
