Normally, I just let things go. I have been ripped off numerous times because I just run out of fight. I think the world knows that if you give me the run around long enough, I’ll eventually give up and walk away a little poorer and a little more jaded from the experience. But this time I’m not giving in.As I write this I am wearing a threadless hoodie from there. It’s one of my favourite pieces of clothing. Super comfy and cute! Not to mention it’s my favourite colour. I’m wearing it on top of another threadless shirt. One of many graphic tees I have in my rotation.
I have been buying clothes from threadless since 2006 when I bought two tee shirts that I wore until they died! When I googled the images I was hit with a pang of nostalgia remembering how much these shirts rocked.
Over the years I have supported the company buying stuff not only for me but also as presents. I have bought so many things from them that I have lost count!
I often would surf the site, as sometimes the things I like are available, but sometimes they’re not. I was very stoked on November 16th when I stumbled across a hoodie that was just perfect!
I was super duper excited! But the hoodie was almost sold out! I had to act fast to get it in the correct size!
The next day I received an email that my order had been processed, and then two days after that I was emailed that it had shipped, and it would be here before Christmas! Excellent!
But all was not right in my world.
The email said the hoodie would be here by December 10th. It wasn’t. I checked my order again, and sent them a message…
Hello, on Nov. 17, ’13 at 2:28a.m. I placed an order for a Doctor-Hoo Medium Fizzy Water Threadless Zip Hoody. It hasn’t arrived and I checked my order today and I realized that it was sent to ALBERTA and not ONTARIO where I live. I spent $60.00 on this sweatshirt and I would really like to receive it. Please help me. Thanks! Annie
We played the back and forth game for over a month. They told me I had to wait five weeks, before it was considered lost… I waited six. Then I sent them a message.
Around this time, my fiance contaced them through twitter, and they sent him the exact response I had received earlier, verbatim. They had sent me canned responses. My feelings were hurt.
It has now been almost 6 weeks since my order was shipped. I am pasting the shipping email I received below, as well as my ticket information. I have checked my local post office and there is no sign of the hoodie. It was supposed to be a Christmas present, and the recipient and I are both very much looking forward to seeing her in her hoodie. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help in this process.
Thanks so much, and have a very happy new year!
I was responding directly to the ticket they had sent me. The next response I got asked me to confirm that my address is in Alberta. If they had read the correspondence, they would know that it isn’t!
I was upset. Like really upset. If I had emailed them back that day I would have not been well received. I needed to take my time, but I was definitely not going to let the money I spent on this hoodie go down the toilet! The only reason why I was willing to fork over such a large chunk of change was because I trusted them to deliver. They had spent the last seven years earning my trust.
Three days ago they notified me they would be closing my ticket. Tonight I finally organized my thoughts well enough, and hopefully civilized enough to get a real human response and a solution to this problem.
Even though everything else has gone smoothly over the past seven years, this transaction has soured my experience and may stop me from buying from them again.
Threadless emailed me back with the following options “As a one time convenience, we can send you a replacement order, issue Threadless credit or refund your card for the lost order. If you want a replacement order, we’re unfortunately not able to send your original selection since it is not currently available in the size you ordered. However, you can pick out a new design for us to send you if you’d like!”
I chose to receive a credit in the hopes that they release a hoodie like the one I had originally wanted.
They issued me a coupon for the price of the hoodie and an additional $10 for my troubles.
I am a happy monkey once more!
